I am unable to forward my e-mails to gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc! Print

At ThisWebHost we try our best to make sure that e-mail deliverability (sending e-mails from your domains/accounts with us) is as reliable and problem free as we possibly can. Unfortunately we have noticed that many users like to simply set up a forwarder from their hosting account and then send all e-mail sent to their domain to a personal Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc e-mail account. We understand that this is incredibly convenient and can keep all e-mail in a single place. Unfortunately there are some potentially severe drawbacks to this which could cause problems with mail deliverability.

Forwarding all of your e-mails will also potentially forward any and all spam mail that you receive to your personal e-mail address. This can cause providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc to think that our servers are sending them spam and can cause additional problems for non-forwarded e-mails. To try and prevent this from happening we have decided to disable forwarding of e-mail accounts on our servers to the following domain names;

gmail.com
googlemail.com
yahoo.com
hotmail.com
live.com

We understand this may be an inconvenience for some users, but did you know that many providers instead allow you to regularly import your e-mail from a remote provider so that it ends up in your personal inbox? This is a much better solution for keeping all of your e-mail in one place. We recommend getting in touch with your personal mail provider and asking them how to set this up.
