We love promotions and coupon code giveaways as much as anyone else, so this Halloween we decided to try something a little different. Rather than just provide you with fixed coupon codes via Twitter or our blog, we thought we’d have a little fun instead. What better way then to take advantage of a tradition many children engage in, and allow you to TRICK OR TREAT us?

That’s right, it sounds crazy… and it probably is, but David cooked up an awesome Halloween themed logo and I went back to my PHP roots in order to create a kind of online TRICK OR TREAT feature that allows you (existing or new clients) to trick or treat us. Now, obviously you can’t throw eggs, flour or tissue paper at us but you do have the chance of bagging yourself some random discount coupons or even a years hosting completely free of charge!

When you TRICK OR TREAT us, you have the chance of either hitting TRICK or TREAT. TRICK fortunately won’t melt your computer or do anything bad to you, except give you a non-positive response. TREAT on the other hand may give you a random discount coupon (ranging from 5-30% off). Very very lucky users will have the chance of picking up a years free Starter/Blog hosting package – completely free of charge.

To try and prevent exploitation and people from hammering the page in order to try and win a years hosting, we’ve limited each attempt to once per hour. If you don’t get yourself a coupon, or you’d prefer to try your hand at getting a higher valued coupon, simply come back later. We’ve tested the page as much as we can, however naturally we reserve the right to reset or remove coupons if we detect any foul play or coding issues on our part. This promotion (and the corresponding coupon codes) will expire on November 1st 2009.

The last few months have been good to us, and we’ve reached the stage where we’ve just installed our third shared hosting server.
