Hi Everybody!
We’re going to be giving away some free This* tshirts to some of our (lucky) clients, but we need some good tshirt slogans! Since you guys will be the ones receiving them, we thought it would be a good idea to hear some slogan ideas from YOU!
The shirts are going to have white text on a dark color. The slogan should represent something about us, and be creative and even humorous!
Feel free to play with our name, for instance MC Hammer’s “Can’t touch this*”.
Either post your slogans in a comment on this post, or @thiswebhost us on Twitter.
The person whose slogan we choose will, of course, get one of the free shirts!
One of the things not very many people consider when using shared hosting is the size of their MySQL databases. Very few hosts that I’m aware of routinely monitor and tweak their MySQL configurations in order to provide the best possible performance, and resultingly MySQL performance can often be quite slow. At this*, we monitor many things that typical hosts don’t, and one of these things is our MySQL configurations – along with the sizes of users databases and the number of tables within. This process is always ongoing, and as user data changes within the database, so do the settings and modifications we make to compensate. And it works. We’ve had some positive feedback from people who have moved from other hosting providers and have noticed that our MySQL performance is significantly better. But, it only works if we keep things under control….
We’re proud to announce the launch of our This* cPanel style! We thought our clients might be a bit sick of the boring default look of cPanel, and might want something a bit sleeker. If you’re not a fan of the This* theme and want to switch back to another style, simply navigate to “Change Style” in cPanel, and click on your style of choice. Enjoy!

Today we’ve added Google Checkout as a new payment gateway for our products. We hope that this will continue to reduce the gap between those who are able to sign up for our (awesome) hosting, and those that aren’t.
We’ll continue to add more gateways as we can.
