So we decreased it and now we’re increasing it again, when will we make up our minds?! The people asked, and how could we refuse? Since we’ve been making some fantastic advances (news coming… well, later) we’ve decided to increase the diskspace across all of our packages. How about double the space? Triple? Quadruple? Five times more? Sure, why the heck not? :)

Since the diskspace is being increased, we figured we should bump up the bandwidth to accomodate too. New packages are now going to look like this:

Starter: 1GB Space / 50GB Bandwidth
Standard: 2.5GB Space / 120GB Bandwidth
Medium: 5GB Space / 300GB Bandwidth
Large: 10GB Space / 600GB Bandwidth
Ultra: 20GB Space / 1.2TB (that’s terabytes or 1200GB) Bandwidth

In case you’re wondering how we’re able to increase the diskspace 5-fold, we’re going to be releasing that information in the upcoming future. Right now all I can tell you is that we are definitely NOT overselling in any fashion at all. We’ve merely been doing things behind the scenes to reduce our diskspace footprint, and we’re passing on the “savings” to you.

As usual, these improvements come completely free of charge to existing clients and we are charging no more to new clients signing up with us. Since there are no negative changes here, we are going to be automatically upgrading all clients on these packages as soon as we can. There is however one drawback for existing clients, and this is that we’re going to need to move your account (and sites) to a new server that’s already had our behind-the-scenes work done on it to conserve diskspace. This will not be done yet, and we’ll contact you all individually to let you know when this is planned, so you can also plan accordingly.

In addition to the awesome package changes, we’re also opening up the ability for SSH access to clients. This is another feature some of you have requested, and we’re happy to oblige. SSH access will only be provided upon request, and will be firewalled off to an individual IP address only, for security purposes. Please feel free to get in touch regarding SSH access.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please let us know.
